Separated from the mainland by the narrow but storm-tossed waters of Bass Strait, the climate of Tasmania, Australia’s most southerly State, most closely resembles that of cooler Europe. Tasmania now produces some of Australia’s most outstanding cool climate wines and excels at producing sparkling wines with creamy textures and beautiful beading, created from classic varieties such as Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
