Wine Australia thanks Angela Slade, outgoing Head of Market – Americas

Mr Andreas Clark, Chief Executive Officer of Wine Australia, today thanked Angela Slade for her strong commitment to Australian wine and her leadership of Wine Australia’s Americas team over more than four years. 

Mr Clark’s comments follow Angela’s resignation from Wine Australia to pursue other opportunities in the wine sector.

Mr Clark said, ‘Angela has been Wine Australia’s Head of Market – Americas since August 2011 and has worked assiduously to improve perceptions of Australia’s fine wine offering.

‘Pleasingly, Angela and the team’s hard work is starting to pay off. The tide is turning for Australian wine in the United States, Australia’s largest export market, with the value of exports increasing by 4 per cent in the last year and growth particularly strong in wines above $10 per litre, which grew in value by 16 per cent. 

‘I would like to thank Angela for her dedication and hard work. We wish her all the best for her future career and we are delighted that, whatever path she follows, we know that in Angela we have a strong friend of Australian wine’, he said.

Angela will finish up on 30 June and recruitment for a new Head of Market – Americas will commence shortly.
