What is our role In reducing trade barriers?

This short talk from Steve Guy, Wine Australia's General Manager - Regulatory Advice, provides some insight into how Wine Australia helps to reduce trade barriers around the world.

Probably, the most important work we do in addressing technical barriers to trade is to compile the requirements of each market into easily digestible guides, available through our website, which ensure exporters are informed in advance of any potential trade hurdles.

The barriers confronting wine traded internationally can be classified into 4 categories:

  • Tariffs
  • Wine production rules
  • Wine labelling rules
  • Wine composition rules
