Technical Business Analyst

Wine Australia and its dynamic team play a vital role in supporting the sector through global marketing, managing research, development and adoption, and protecting the reputation of Australian wine. Wine Australia is the service body for the Australian grape and wine sector.

We currently have a vacancy for a Technical Business Analyst in our Adelaide office.

In this role, you will act as a key interface between IT and the business for both projects and ongoing support of Wine Australia’s IT System. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Business analysis
    • provide business analysis services across projects and system enhancements
    • work with business stakeholders to determine requirements and translate them into technical designs and specifications
  • Applications support
    • support Wine Australia’s key business system WALAS (Wine Australia Licensing and Approval System), working closely with internal business teams and external IT service providers to ensure the end-to-end management of incidents, problems and enhancements
    • administer and configure other applications and associated interfaces
  • Testing services
    • develop test plans, scenarios and cases for system enhancements
    • undertake testing of system fixes and enhancements
  • Business relationship management
    • develop and maintain close relationships with customers to develop understanding of business processes
    • communicate with relevant stakeholders to determine business and technical requirements for implementations
  • Vendor management
    • provide quality assurance of vendor deliverables
    • proactively manage any escalated incidents and requests.

We are seeking applicants with a relevant tertiary-level qualification in IT or business, ITIL Foundations and/or business analyst-related certificate (e.g. BABOK) and a minimum of five years’ experience in providing application support and/or business analyst support in a corporate environment.

You will also have:

  • significant experience providing 2nd level application support and administration
  • significant experience working with business stakeholders and relationship management
  • experience working with 3rd party suppliers and managing vendor relationships
  • good written and oral communication skills
  • the ability to sustain focus on conflicting priorities and deliver at pace with consistent quality, and
  • enthusiasm, high energy levels and a good sense of humour.
