Explore what makes Australian Cabernet Sauvignon far from ordinary

Cabernet Sauvignon is an integral part of Australia’s wine heritage, successful both as a single varietal wine and as a dominant feature in classic blends. It is also now the most widely planted grape variety globally, accounting for nearly 7% of the world’s vineyard area, indicating the continuing popularity for these wines.

Join us for a global discussion exploring the rich heritage of Australian Cabernet Sauvignon and how it fits in a global fine wine context through benchmarking with international comparisons. We’ll discuss some of the key Cabernet producing regions and most revered producers with our expert panellists: Mary Gorman-McAdams MW, John Szabo MS and Oz Clarke.

Our panellists will be tasting and discussing the following wines:

  • Wynns ‘Black Label’ Coonawarra 2015
  • Balnaves of Coonawarra ‘The Tally’ Coonawarra 2015
  • Yarra Yering ‘Dry Red Wine No. 1’ Yarra Valley 2015
  • Mount Mary ‘Quintet’ Yarra Valley 2015
  • Cullen Wines ‘Diana Madeline’ Margaret River 2015
  • Vasse Felix ‘Tom Cullity’ Margaret River 2015
  • Henschke ‘Cyril Henschke’ Eden Valley 2015

The webinar will take place fully live on May 12th at 4:00pm (BST) / 11:00am (EDT). On May 14th, 12:00pm (ASET) / 10:00am (HKT), a live discussion will be hosted by Mark Davidson and Corinne Mui followed by a video replay of the conversation with our panellists.
