Can you tell your Semillon from your Sauvignon Blanc or pick which Shiraz is from the Barossa?
Wine Australia’s Tasting Blind Club (TBC) gives you the chance to do just that. As well as testing your blind tasting skills, you are also in with the chance to win a trip to Australia.
Every month TBC showcases a diverse, exciting range of 12 - 20 Australian wines. The wines are divided into flights, themed by region or variety, and tasted blind along with a quiz sheet.
After sipping, slurping and some scribbling, tasters can choose to submit their answers at the end, with the season’s most successful taster winning a trip to Australia. If you'd prefer not to submit your quiz sheet, no worries, TBC is also about great wines and good chat!
This fun, free-pour blind tasting is perfect for wine students preparing for their WSET Diploma, MW or Court of Master Sommeliers exams, but of course anyone from the trade looking to brush up their tasting skills is very welcome.
Julia Lambeth, owner of South London Wine School, was crowned ‘Tasting Blind Club Champion 2016–17’ and won a trip to Australia which you can read all about here. Julia embarked on a two-week wine tour of Australia in October 2017, exploring the Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale, Adelaide Hills, Geelong, Mornington Peninsula and Yarra Valley.
Cost: Free to attend, drinks trade and media only
