Aussie wine will be celebrated in Sweden in October at the annual trade and consumer tasting, showcasing the quality and diversity of premium wines from many of the regions of Australia.
The Swedish wine market is showing signs of recovery, and Australia sits at number 5 in market share, with imports of Australian wine stable at AUD $21 million. The monopoly dominates sales, comprising 55% bag in box, and 20% organic, which they are aiming to grow to 25% over the next few years. Our goal is to grow our market share in the on-trade through engagement with the importers.
The Swedish tasting will comprise a trade tasting and master class; a consumer tasting and a briefing from the monopoly buyer.
The history and evolution of Australian wines will be demonstrated through the master class and focus tables. The event is open to wines existing in the market or wineries seeking distribution.
This is a professional tasting providing an active trading platform across all channels, plus consumer engagement and extensive social media coverage. Working with local in-market support, this event will build on last year’s attendance of 325 trade and consumers.
