After an absence of more than 10 years, Vinexpo returned to New York City in 2018. More than 3,000 trade and media attended the event on 5 and 6 March 2018 at the Jacob K. Javits Center.
The two-day wine trade fair featured more than 400 wine producers, with each day offering masterclasses, panel discussions and industry networking spaces for attendees.
Over 30 Australian wineries from 20 regions showcased their exceptional wine at Wine Australia's two pavilions.
Attendees had the opportunity to:
- discover new varieties and styles, meet the people behind the wines and learn about current trends,
- taste dozens of Australian wines from all over the country that have been rated 90 points or higher by Wine Spectator at the dedicated Tasting Bar, and
- participate in one of two masterclasses that feature some of the most exciting traditional and emerging wines, producers and regions.

New initiatives – $50m Export and Regional Wine Support Package
With the support of the $50m Package, Wine Australia invested $350,000 in Vinexpo New York which, together with the $60,000 sector contribution, enabled a strong Australian wine presence at the trade fair. Activities included an Australian Pavilion to support winery and importer engagement, master classes, peripheral events and education programs that engaged consumers and key trade and raised the profile of Australian wine. More information about the event will be published as it becomes available.
The $360,000 investment forms part of approximately $3.7 million that Wine Australia is investing in the USA market in 2017–18 to engage and motivate the wine trade to support the Australian fine wine category.
