Telephone: 08 8313 6600 during business hours
Email: helpdesk@awri.com.au
Funded by Wine Australia, the AWRI Helpdesk provides a free-of-charge advice service to Australia’s grapegrowers and winemakers who pay the Winegrapes and/or Grape Research levies.
Advice is available on winemaking, viticulture and regulatory issues from experienced winemakers, viticulturists and scientists.
The AWRI Helpdesk also offers an investigative service for problems that cannot be resolved by advice over the phone or by email. Samples of grapes or wine can be sent in for independent analysis and interpretation to determine the root cause of an issue, with a formal report prepared if required.

VitiSynth
Request a free Wine Australia supported subscription
VitiSynth is an international database of wine and table grape industry knowledge covering oenology, viticulture, wine business, wine marketing, wine sensory and more.
VitiSynth and its weekly newsletter VitiSynthesis make it possible to keep up to date with new research and other publications by filtering through sources of information, eliminating those that are non-relevant and providing read recommendations while presenting the publications (including links to the publisher’s website) in a structured and efficient manner.
Free annual subscriptions available through Wine Australia
Access to the full version of VitiSynth services requires a subscription. Wine Australia is pleased to offer annual subscriptions to individuals who meet the following criteria:
• Australian grape and wine sector levy payers
• individuals within Australian national, state/territory or regional industry associations
• individuals working within policy and government agencies, consultants, agronomists and individuals working with the Australian grape and wine sector, and
• researchers and students working in grape and wine science based at Australian universities or research institutes.
Wine Australia reviews requests for applications against the criteria. When we get close to reaching the cap we will allocate subscriptions using the order specified. An additional cap is applied to individuals requesting a subscription from each of the top 20 largest wine companies by total wine production, at 20 individuals per company.
Currently there are 630 Wine Australia subscriptions available. This number is regularly updated.
