Wine Australia will once again host an Australian national pavilion at ProWine China this year to promote our fine wines to some of China’s most influential trade.

At ProWine China 2016, Wine Australia will host tastings and a group dinner for all exhibitors and invited guests including media and trade to facilitate further networking opportunities.

In the 12 months to March 2016, Australian wine exports to Mainland China grew in value by 64 per cent to $397 million.

Last year, Wine Australia, together with 16 Australian wineries and importers, hosted an Australian Pavilion for the first time at ProWine China.

More than 100 Australian wines from 20 brands, in nearly 15 wine regions across 5 states in Australia were showcased and many participants said that they have discovered potential business leads during the event.

At ProWine China 2015, Wine Australia Head of Market China Willa Yang said ProWine China is one of the most important trade shows on the calendar.

‘We’ve had incredibly positive feedback from our exhibiting partners and visitors to our pavilion. The fair has been a great opportunity to encourage the trade in China to learn even more about the quality and regional diversity of our wines, and to understand that there’s really no such thing as a typical Aussie wine style’, she said.

ProWine China will be held in Shanghai from 7 to 9 November 2016.
