Look out! The Aussies are out in force in the UK this month

More than 65 Australian winemakers and principals will touch down on British soil this month for a series of key trade events in London.

With a bumper month of activity ahead, Australian winemakers and principals are in London to support a series of key trade events. These include Wine Australia’s Premium Australia Tasting (29 September), Liberty Wines’ Australia Tasting and Awin Barratt Siegel’s (ABS) ‘Australia’s Best Kept Secrets’ (both held on 8 September).

While it’s unlikely there’ll be any talk of the cricket, the visiting winemakers and principals are looking forward to presenting their wines and meeting the UK trade across the month.

De Bortoli Chief Winemaker Steve Webber will be among the winemakers flocking to London to promote premium Australian wine.

‘The UK is an important market for Australia and is a major influence on wine opinion and review the world over,’ he said.

‘The UK market is expecting compelling, textural, wines of place from all producers and countries, something that we feel the new Australia is doing, and doing well.’

Other visiting winemakers include Tyrrell Wines’ Bruce Tyrrell, Grosset’s Jeff Grosset and Vanya Cullen from Cullen Wines. A full list is provided below.

Wine Australia Regional Director, Laura Jewell MW, said she is excited to welcome the large contingent of Australians this month.

‘It’s crucial that winemakers and principals visit markets such as the UK so together we can tell the Australian stories and show off the personalities behind every bottle of Australian wine.’

‘It will be great to have so many talented Australians in the same city this month.’

A number of winemakers will also join Wine Australia in Norway, Sweden and Finland for the Nordic Roadshow 1-7 October.
