Attendance at the XV International Botrytis Symposium, Cádiz (Spain)

Abstract

This travel grant covered the costs associated with attendance at the XV International Botrytis Symposium, Cádiz (Spain), 30th May to 4th June 2010 and associated travel to meet with researchers at INRA, Bordeaux, France on 7th June 2010.

Summary

Recently completed research on the interactions between Botrytis cinerea and other fungi associated with bunch rot of grapes was presented to an international audience as an oral presentation as part of the symposium held in Cádiz. Discussions were held with other scientists involved with Botrytis research from around the globe, and potential research collaborations were explored. Discussions at INRA centred on the impacts pathogenic fungi have on wine chemistry and sensory properties and also the modelling and management of bunch rot epidemics.
