Winegrape crop forecasting training module

Abstract

The Winegrape Crop Forecasting Training Module comprises a training manual supported by computer software and a Trainers Guide to assist future trainers in delivering crop forecasting training. The training course advocated by the Module was evaluated and refined after delivery to five industry groups across South Eastern Australia in the 2002/2003 season. Participants were successfully trained in crop forecasting with over 90% of participants who completed the training indicating they intended to use the crop forecasting system in following seasons. The availability of the Module will be the first of its kind in the area of wine grape crop forecasting worldwide. Recommendations relating to crop forecasting training and barriers to adoption are presented and discussed.
