Wine Australia and Austrade are now seeking interest for participation in an Australian pavilion at ProWine Mumbai 2024.

India's rapidly developing market and growing taste for local and international wines has recently led to the Mumbai edition of the internationally led ProWine becoming India’s leading wine and liquor trade event. 2023 was the third edition of ProWine India and the first with a coordinated Australian wine pavilion, featuring wineries from South Australia, Victoria, New South Wales and Western Australia.

The two-day event (8-9 November 2024) will bring together all the industry stakeholders with a full-fledged Trade Fair for wine, spirits, craft drinks and related products & services, including country specific trade bodies. It will serve as a platform for Australian wineries to interact with Indian importers and showcase their wines to the target audience (importers, distributors, hotel and restaurant sector, sommeliers, media, high-net worth individuals and consumers). Relationships in the Indian market can take time to develop and there is no substitute for simply ‘being there’ – and what better way than as Team Australia.

On behalf of Austrade, Wine Australia is assisting to run the expression of interest process to ascertain appetite from exporters in participating in an Australian wine pavilion at ProWine Mumbai, and determine whether there is enough interest to proceed with planning for the 2024 edition. If you have been considering the India market, and are interested in being involved or learning more about this opportunity, please submit your expression of interest (EOI) by 30 April 2024.

Expressions of interest

  • Participants - Wineries interested in entering, or expanding their presence in India.
  • Audience - Importers, distributors, hospitality, retail, sommeliers, media, high net worth consumers and wine & spirits enthusiasts.
  • Cost (AUD) - Approximately $6500 for a full booth - to be confirmed should the opportunity proceed.
  • Exclusions - Airfare, accommodation, logistics, meals, sample transport (which is approximately 40% more expensive than comparable trade shows).

Please note: A minimum number of participating wineries will be required in order for this event to proceed, and costs will be determined if planning for the event progresses.

A completed Expression of Interest does not constitute automatic acceptance into the event. Should a minimum number of wineries be reached, those interested will be contacted about next steps.

Expressions of interest for this event opened on 26 March 2024 and will close on 30 April 2024.  The event is being promoted to Australian wine businesses via the Wine Australia website and marketing newsletters.

Participation criteria

Wineries seeking to participate must comply with the following eligibility requirements:
