Wine Tourism Australia founder Robin Shaw will be directly involved in the Growing Wine Tourism program and brings more than 25 years’ experience in the wine and tourism sectors at regional, state and national level.

In her role as Tourism and Business Development manager for Winemakers’ Federation of Australia, Robin was responsible for delivering the National Wine Tourism Strategy.  In 2004 she received a prestigious Winston Churchill Fellowship to undertake a global study tour of wine regions, investigating innovative wine tourism operations that could be applied to Australian wineries. The information gained informed the content of several sector resources and programs, including The Australian Wine Tourism Toolkit and a series of WineSkills and Wine Tourism Workshops across the country between 2005 and 2010.

Robin was part of a team that undertook a research project for Wine Australia in 2017 titled Capability Gap Analysis: Creating International Ready Wine Businesses for Inbound Tourism & Export and is invited each year to present at the International Wine Tourism Conference in Europe.

Robin also holds board positions with Wine Industry Suppliers’ Australia and Adelaide Hills Tourism.
