Wine Australia will return to Houston, Washington D.C., Toronto and Montreal for the North America Roadshow in April and May 2027.
Australian wineries, importers and agents with existing distribution in these markets are invited to express interest and submit wines for consideration. Wineries are also encouraged to travel to North America to take part in some or all of the events and connect directly with local trade.
Roadshow dates
The proposed dates are:
- Houston, Texas: 27 April 2027
- Washington D.C.: 29 April 2027
- Toronto, Ontario: 4 May 2027
- Montreal, Quebec: 6 May 2027.
These dates are subject to change until venues are confirmed.
What to expect
Each event will include a trade seminar followed by a walkaround, free-pour tasting. Wines will be grouped by style or variety and paired with food.
The Washington D.C. event is planned for the Australian Embassy, following the Spring 2025 Roadshow event at the venue. Events in the other cities will be held in restaurants, providing an opportunity to showcase Australian wines alongside food.
Due to venue capacity, attendance will be limited to one producer, importer or agent representative per company.
There may also be opportunities to participate in consumer-facing activities in the evening.
How to participate
Participation is available by individual stock keeping unit (SKU), rather than through the traditional producer table format used at trade tastings.
Wineries do not need to attend in person to submit wines. However, winemakers or winery principals travelling from Australia can have their own table and present up to four SKUs.
Importers and agents are also encouraged to submit wines and attend the events, but they are not required to travel to pour submitted wines.
Current distribution in the relevant market is required. This activity is not intended for wines that are new to market.
Costs and requirements
Individual wine submissions
- A$125 per SKU
- Two bottles of each selected wine must be shipped or delivered to the event venue by the winery’s local importer, agent or distributor.
Winemaker and winery principal tables
Winemakers and winery principals travelling from Australia can have their own table:
- A$500 per table
- up to four SKUs per table.
Wines we’re looking for
Wine Australia is seeking premium wines that present a diverse and exciting picture of Australian wine, including flagship wines, lighter and fresher styles and unexpected varieties.
Proposed wine groupings include:
- sparkling wines
- crisp and lively whites
- full-bodied, savoury or textured whites
- light-bodied reds
- full-bodied reds
- Mediterranean varieties
- fortified and dessert wines.
Target recommended retail prices are US$20 or more in the United States and C$25 or more in Canada.
Wine Australia will select the final wines and may request substitutions to ensure the roadshow presents a broad range of Australian varieties, regions and styles.
State and regional opportunities
Wine Australia will discuss opportunities with state and regional associations to sponsor themed tables. Wineries interested in these opportunities should contact their relevant regional association for further information.
