Growing Wine Tourism is a practical, wine-specific skills development program for wine businesses looking to develop their wine tourism products and services for the inbound tourism market.

Wine Australia has partnered with the Australian Tourism Export Council (ATEC) to deliver the program in conjunction with Fastrak Asian Solutions and Wine Tourism Australia, as part of the Australian Government’s $50 million Export and Regional Wine Support Package.

The program comprises three modules which are being delivered throughout 2018–19.

  • Module 1: Understanding the visitor economy
  • Module 2: Stepping into wine tourism experiences
  • Module 3: Getting inbound ready.

Module 1 – ‘Understanding the visitor economy’ – commenced October 2018 with two face-to-face pilot workshops in New South Wales and Tasmania, and live interactive webinars in each state. These pilot workshops and webinars were an introduction to the program and an opportunity to gain feedback from wine businesses ahead of the full program rollout in 2019.

See Growing Wine Tourism at a glance (PDF) for an overview of the program.

How can I get involved?

Register for a regional workshop or webinar when the schedule is released in early 2019.

The format is still being finalised but it is expected that wine businesses will have the opportunity to attend:

  • a full day regional workshop covering all three program modules, and/or
  • a webinar that covers one module at a time.
