Following the success of the master class and free pour tasting held in Amsterdam over the last three years, it’s time to expand the event to attract a wider trade audience and to showcase a wider range of wines available in the market.

The Netherlands is a key market for Australian wine and exports continue to grow. Exports to The Netherlands have now reached $43.6 million up 26% in the last year (MAT June 2019), mainly driven by sales in bottle. The Netherlands is classified as a mature market, lying in 5th place in the market attractiveness index (Wine Intelligence), up 5 places. There are 14 million adults in the country and the economy is healthy with only 4% unemployment.

The event will give trade and media the opportunity to discover new wines, meet producers and importers, and explore Wine Australia’s new education programme. Comprising a master class and a trade tasting, the programme will feature approximately 200 wines from Australian wineries in market and local distributors. After the trade part of the event, we will then run a ticketed tasting evening for 100+ consumers.

Through this event, we will help you - the producers and distributors - to place premium Australian wines on the retail shelves, online and in wine lists, and ensure that they are included in positive conversations across the media. The event is a platform for wineries in market to meet retail buyers, independent specialists, the on-trade and sommeliers, and work on leads and generate listings.
